My name is Larry Yang. I'm currently employed at the Wilder Foundation as a targeted case manager supervisor. The specific division that I work for is called the community mental health and wellness. So, we have various programs, providing therapy, case management, it's both to kids and adults. We have therapists in the school. We do in-home therapy, depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, alcohol substance use. Sometimes I may provide calculation, just discussing with the colleague to figure out if we're missing anything or if there's any different approaches. And so that allows staff to feel supported. Sometimes my staff might be unsure of what they're doing or what they're thinking. And they might just need like assurance that they're thinking along the correct lines. Other components of my job is facilitating meetings. There's never shortage of meeting to attend whether it's about budgets, clients, policies, procedures. I might be facilitating a meeting to just kinda help guide the conversation. Another component is completing comprehensive evaluation. So, pretty much what that means is accepting to see if client needs criteria for a diagnosis and mind you that that is pretty much a snapshot in time. And it's to identify areas where they may be struggling, services that they might need or resources that a person might need. In therapy you might be dealing with some of the experiences that they've had in the past, which sometimes leads to the core of issues, but that's only that portion of it and where case management is a support is that, even if they are still needing to be able to process that. They're still dealing with the day to day needs and issues. And that's where case management comes in to be able to locate that or to be able to coordinate it.
