Meet the Team

Beth has 20+ years of career development experience in higher education. As executive director, she sets the strategic direction and delivery of career initiatives to support undergraduate and graduate students and the growing alumni network. She oversees a team of career coaches and employer engagement staff to provide students and alumni customized career guidance, including networking assistance, company exploration, and industry-specific job and internship opportunities. A key department within the University Advancement division, Career Development works to leverage and enhance corporate and employer relations—through alumni and friends—to bolster student opportunities and outcomes at local, national, and international companies. The Career Development team provides essential resources and programs to prepare students for a lifetime of professional success.

Beth is a Monmouth County native, lifelong NY Rangers hockey fan and enjoys the beach and reading, especially when she can relax while reading on the beach!

Mariagrazia Buttitta is a native Italian speaker who provides career coaching to undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni, along with many other responsibilities, in all career-related avenues. Some of these responsibilities include career exploration, résumé and cover letter review, interview preparation, job and internship search, networking and LinkedIn strategies, graduate school preparation, and delivering class presentations and workshops. She works with the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Science, School of Social Work, and undeclared majors.

Mariagrazia, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), is a double alumna of The College of New Jersey, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Mariagrazia’s diverse background in counseling, writing, speaking, disability advocacy, and previous career counseling experience bring a unique and creative perspective to her work at Monmouth. She often draws from a strength-based approach while helping students reach their fullest potential. Through her cone dystrophy diagnosis, Mariagrazia strives to help others embrace their abilities while guiding them in navigating their professional journeys.

Mariagrazia enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and dogs, hiking, biking, exercising, and embarking on life’s adventures! Her one true weakness — espresso, and lots of it.

Jeff Mass is a double alumnus of Monmouth University and the director of employer relations for Career Development.

He builds new and existing relationships with recruiters and hiring managers, understands their hiring needs, develops impactful and equitable career programming, and connects students with meaningful career opportunities. Jeff also shares best practices with employers on campus recruiting strategies and hosts 4-5 career fairs with 200+ organizations annually. He advises them on key ways to connect with qualified students through Handshake and PeopleGrove, programming, and campus partnerships. Additionally, Jeff is responsible for individual career counseling to alumni in a high-volume office on various topics including career assessment interpretation, resume development, full-time job search techniques, and interviewing preparation.

Jeff is an avid polar bear plunger and third generation corporate recruiter who enjoys outdoor activities and traveling.

Harry is a double alumnus of Monmouth University and serves as the career coach for undergraduate students in the Leon Hess Business School, Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies, and School of Education. Harry guides students as they explore various career paths, search for internships & full-time positions, craft resumes and cover letters, apply to graduate school and prepare for interviews. He is well versed with Monmouth University and its wide range of student resources. With his previous experience in Career Development and Student Affairs, Harry is well equipped to support students as they build a holistic collegiate experience and enhance their employable skills to prove competitive in the modern-day job market.

Harry is a New Jersey native who enjoys Rook Coffee, reading, hiking, traveling, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and keeping up to date with political affairs.

In her role, she plans, executes, and assesses all efforts to expand professional connections between employers and students through career events and programs. Rosie uses Handshake to provide students with career events, job and internship opportunities. She manages the Career Development social media and marketing to keep students up to date on career events and opportunities to connect with employers. She is also responsible for developing and implementing all outreach strategies. Rosie has experience in career and workforce counseling, event planning, social media marketing and videography.  With a degree in Media Art & Design, Rosie is equipped with the tools to create visually captivating materials that expand student engagement in Career Development.

Rosie loves to read, cook, travel, and all things outdoors. In the summers you can find her camping, hiking, or near any body of water.

Liz is the first point of contact in our office. She assists our department and constituents with Career Development services, programs and events, and helps our office to run smoothly—whether it’s scheduling appointments, assisting with outreach, or booking vendors and room reservations for our upcoming events. Liz earned her associate’s degree in Business Administration from Brookdale Community College and transferred to Monmouth University. While attending classes, she began her career at Monmouth as a student worker in the Student Employment Office and has since joined the Career Development team as our Office Coordinator.

Liz enjoys reading, listening to live music, mom-and-pop coffee shops, and spending time with her loved ones.
